Summer Program

The hours for the 2008 Summer Program will be 8:30am-12:00pm (for toddlers and preschoolers) or 8:30am - 3:00pm (for preschoolers only) with preference given to those that choose the 8:30 - 3:00 program.

Infant/Toddler Program

Children are eligible for TCM's Infant/Toddler summer program between the ages of fifteen months and two years eight months. The program is a seven week morning session with a choice of two, three or five days per week. Children must attend a minimum of two weeks. Each child receives maximum attention from professionally trained, nurturing staff members. Activities include crafts, nature observation, cooking, playground and water play.

Preschool Program

Children are eligible for TCM's Preschool summer program between the ages of two years nine months and five years old. The program consists of seven one-week sessions with a minimum of two weeks. Activities for this age group combine fun and learning. Crafts, swimming (for 4 and 5 years old) and nature study allow preschoolers and kindergartners to participate in group or independent play.

There is a swimming program, at Middlesex Pool, for children enrolled in the 8:30am-3:00pm program, are four or five years old or three year olds that attended TCM's preschool program this past year. The youngest preschoolers, children who are entering preschool this fall, will not be transported to the pool. They are much happier with a variety of sprinklers, wading pools and other water play choices at TCM.

2008 Summer Fun Program Weekly Themes:

Week 1: COLOR YOUR WORLD
The world is a colorful place to explore. Come and experiment and investigate colors and rainbows.

Week 2: LET’S GET BUGGY!
What’s the buzz about bees, butterflies, ladybugs,
dragonflies, ants and crickets? We will have many
opportunities to observe common backyard bugs close up.

Week 3: FLIGHTS OF FANCY: FAIRIES AND OTHER MAGICAL CREATURES
This week we will explore fairies and other magical creatures
using natural items found in our own backyard.

Week 4: MYSTERY MANIA
Come solve a mystery each day play guessing games and make
your own detective kit

Week 5: COME FLY WITH ME: EXPLORE THE WORLD OF BIRDS
We will go birding in our own back yard. Who will we see?
Robins? Finches? Hawks? Cardinals? Chickadees? Come
along with us!

WEEK 6: COOKS AND BOOKS
Using a few of our favorite food-themed stories the children
will participate in a variety of activities and cooking projects.

Week 7: TCM SUMMER OLYMPICS
There will be games and activities to suit every
“Olympian.”
